Biography of Fergie
March 9, 2009Born Stacy Ann Ferguson, Fergie as she is called in the music world, has really made a name for herself. Already in her short career she has come into the pop and R&B world with a bang. Starting out very young, Fergie landed her first gig on Kid’s Incorporated which was a very popular singing and dancing show in the 1980’s. Getting her big break on television, she decided that she was more interested in pursuing music. Along with fellow Kid’s Incorporated alum, she decided to front her own band called “The Wild Orchids.”
Fergie had mild success with her band and put out two albums. However on the third album, the record label did not want to produce it, essentially ending her career with “The Wild Orchids.” Although, if there is one thing that Fergie has it is perseverance. She was invited a little while later to be part of the Black Eyed Peas song “Hey Mama.” After collaborating on a few more songs, the members of the group were so thrilled with what she brought to their music that they asked her to become a member of the group. After two hit albums with Black Eye Peas and a whirlwind of success for her and the band, she set her sights on a solo breakthrough.
When her album “The Dutchess” was released it was well received. Her first song off the album “London Bridges” was already a huge success, and after that it wasn’t long before “Glamorous” and “Big Girl’s Don’t Cry” quickly followed suit. Fergie ringtones have been the top selling ringtones for 2007. With five top hits off her album in total, it makes her only the seventh woman to complete such a task. Fergie also has a booming personal life, as she just got engaged to actor Josh Duhamel from the hit show Las Vegas. With her booming singing career and her fantastic style of music, Fergie is a name that will be around for a long time to come.
